Michelle Tanguay

Art Rapture is extremely proud to give Michelle Tanguay her first opportunity to show professional work on the west coast of Canada. Her unique style brings a phenomenal spark to the Prohibition lineup.

Michelle Tanguay moved to Detroit from Buffalo, NY at the age of 17 while pursuing her creative aspirations. She studied Fine Art at the College For Creative Studies where she discovered her love of oil painting. Her sex-positive feminist ideals quickly became an important theme of her work. Tanguay’s first public exhibition in 2012 at the Red Bull House of Art in Detroit featured large scale portraits of women eating candy. Tanguay continually creates works that reside within the “sweet tooth” series, alongside hundreds of paintings in a wide variety of themes and geometric styles. A result of the artists unquenchable thirst for exploration and perpetual need to create. Tanguay has created works for Netflix, Under Armour, Red Bull, Sierra Mist, POW! WOW! Hawaii, Residencia Gorila (Tulum Mexico) Wright&CO, Ashe coffee, Murals in the Market, Complex MI, Brooklyn Outdoor. Today she can be found feverishly working away on countless projects and private commissions in her studio in Detroit.
