Collection: iHeart - So Hollywood
"SO HOLLYWOOD"
In 2019, during a visit to Los Angeles, iHeart was inspired by one of the most famous areas in the city, Hollywood. L.A.’s neighbourhood most synonymous with the glamour of the movie industry, is home to many of celebrities who caught the artist’s attention. In today’s world many of us rely on social media platforms to connect with each other. In reality, these platforms serve to alienate us rather than bring us closer together.
This image was first painted in East L.A.'s Boyle Heights at Hollenbeck Park, which has been home to this mural since 2019. iHeart also brought "So Hollywood" to the Vancouver Mural Festival, incorporating a fun twist on a mural located on the WeWork building in Mt. Pleasant.
Viewing life in retrospect, we pass through the present with our eyes blindfolded. We are merely permitted to sense and guess at what we experience.
"What do you want to be when you grow up? Relevant.”
iHeart habitually uses children as a symbol of our future. To captivate our attention and shake up our egocentricity.
Each of iHeart’s mural conveys a strong message using humour and irony to show our true faces. He fights harmful ideologies, hypocrisy, the absurdity of life, and many other sensitive issues.
