Vision: to achieve rapture through visual art
Art Rapture is focused on bending the boundaries of the traditional Canadian landscape through art. We showcase a blend of pop, urban, and contemporary art synonymous with the art movements experienced in London, Paris, Los Angeles, New York, Sao Paolo and Berlin. Since 2016, we have successfully exhibited over 30 talented artists including Okuda San Miguel, Ola Volo, iHeart, Sean Jantzi, Denial, Michelle Tanguay, Taka Sudo, Scott Sueme and Jon Shaw among many other exceptionally skilled artists. We've placed over 300 works of art in the hands of exuberant collectors while supporting the fight against homelessness in our country. Art Rapture is excited to carry the momentum forward and is committed to rolling out elaborate exhibitions to tantalize your senses for years to come.
MOST RECENT EVENT - Oct 2018
Art Rapture was proud to present "King-Queen-Lovers-Fool" a solo exhibition for the infamous muralist, illustrator and fine artist, Ola Volo.
King-Queen-Lovers-Fool was the highly anticipated solo show of 2018. This art experience was Ola Volo's first solo exhibition in over 4 years. The theme for this show is drawn from the history of royalty, love and laughter found within universal stories and tales. Ola is passionate about her belief that folk tales and art can bridge the gap between cultures. This exhibition is her personal reflection and moment to bring community together.
Over the past two years, Ola has only created 3 original paintings on canvas, all of which were sold via auction, well above estimates, at Vancouver's Art Rapture (2016 & 2017). Ola and Art Rapture teamed up to produce an exquisite, fun, energetic show in heart of Railtown, Vancouver at the rustic, raw event space in The Settlement Building.
As Ola Volo continues to dominate the street art/mural scene in North America, patrons of the arts have been salivating over the opportunity to acquire Ola's fine art original paintings. The weekend of October 5/6 has officially opened the doors to this rare collectors' dream and over 100 works of art sold.
GIVING BACK
Since 2016, Art Rapture has donated over $11,750 from art sales to The Push For Change, a Canadian charity focused on eliminating youth homelessness.
On May 1, 2016, Joe Roberts, former homeless youth, embarked on a massive 17 month, 9000km journey while pushing a shopping cart across Canada to raise awareness and dollars to end youth homelessness.
This national trek began on May 1, 2016 from St. John’s Newfoundland and ended on September 30, 2017 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Throughout this journey, Joe engaged with Canada’s population by stopping at over 300 secondary schools and immersing his passion in over 200 community engagements.
The Art Rapture team encourages you to support The Push For Change by visiting their website (www.thepushforchange.com), becoming familiar with the challenges our nation faces with youth homelessness, and finding ways to help make a difference in our community. You can check out Joe's journey here:
